13 Halloween Tips and Tricks
Here is a better way to slice a pumpkin,
allowing you to light a candle without singeing off your arm hair.

Better yet, skip the candle all together and add a string of Christmas lights inside your pumpkin.

Silica Gel will prevent pumpkins from molding. I would suggest not opening the packet. Just toss the entire thing inside your pumpkin or gourd display.
Use cookie cutters to carve your pumpkins.

Make your own sculptures using packing tape.

Fill a spray bottle with water and add a small amount of bleach. Spray this on your pumpkin daily to fight mold and keep your pumpkin from drying out.

Get the look of spiderwebs inside a balloon using hi-float and a couple rubber spiders.

Preparing for Spring is as Easy as Dig, Drop, Done.
This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Bulbs. Dig, Drop, Done. for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.
Spring is my favorite season of the year. I spend my spring mornings sitting on the front porch, sipping coffee and admiring the newly blooming flowers. Of course those flowers usually belong to the neighbors as I am always to busy (or maybe I'm just to lazy) to plant bulbs in the fall.
However, this year will be different. After visiting www.digdropdone.com I have learned that it really is as easy as digging a hole, dropping the bulb in, and your DONE!! I checked out Curbside Chaos and tried out the Garden Guru Tool located at the bottom left of the screen. This tool is amazing! It helps you figure out which bulb is perfect for your home depending upon where you live and it is so easy to use.
Step 1 – Pick your Country
Step 2 – Pick your location within that Country
Step 3 – Choose the type of bulb you want to grow
Step 4 – Check out the Planting Guide that shows you how to plant your bulbs.
The best part of www.digdropdone.com are the three Dig, Drop, Done ladies. Each one has great advice on gardening and their humor adds so much fun to the site. I identify with Marcy the most. She is a super mom who is always trying to find a simpler way to do things due to her super busy schedule.
Bulbs are not just for gardeners. A friend of mine uses potted bulbs as a center piece for her kitchen table. A couple other ideas would be to add a pop of color to your front porch, or give them as a gift to a fellow bulb lover. Let your kids help and use the opportunity to teach them about how plants grow.
Last year Curbside Chaos held a contest for a $5000 yard makeover. I watched the video of the lucky winner which you can view at their website. How fun would that be to win? What would you do with a $5000 yard makeover? I would definitely include some outdoor seating around a fire pit and lots of beautiful flowers.
What are you planning on planting this year? Do you have a favorite bulb? Make sure you visit www.digdropdone.com to learn more. Also take a moment to share on Twitter. Every share with the hashtag #CurbsideChaos, "Bulbs. Dig, Drop, Done." will donate $1.00 to Rebuilding Together - the nation’s leading nonprofit, working to preserve affordable home ownership and revitalize communities.
7 ways to organize your garage
After having a yard sale last weekend we managed to clear out a TON of stuff and now I am on the search for some organizing inspiration. Here are a few fantastic ideas that I came up with.
Rolling Storage Cabinets - What a great way to hide all of the clutter! By adding some pegboard and a few shelves inside you would be able to store so much. Make a few of them and add labels. One for tools, garden items, fishing gear, etc...
Clay Pot Storage - Not only is this a great idea for storing garden items but adding sand can also help keep your small garden tools rust free.
Bucket Hose Storage - Not only will this keep your garden hose organized, it also gives you a place to store any sprinklers and other hose connections. You could also use the same idea with recycle cans and smaller hoses or extension cords.

Help Walmart in the Fight Against Hunger
This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Walmart for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.
A little over a year ago my husband lost his job. Weeks went by without a single job offer and our savings account was running low. I began to worry what would happen once our savings was gone. How would we feed our family? Luckily, we never reached that point. My husband was able to get a job and we were able to get back on our feet again. Unfortunately, many Americans are not as lucky.
Why am I bothering to tell you this? Because September is Hunger Action Month!
Did you know that 50 million Americans won’t know where their next meal will come from at some point this year.
However, Walmart is here to help. Walmart will be working with customers, suppliers and associates nationwide to donate up to 53 million meals to Feeding America and give $2.5 million for hunger relief. Through October 12th, YOU will be able to generate meal donations for Feeding America by purchasing select products from participating food suppliers at Walmart stores. Participating food suppliers include; General Mills, Kellogs, Unilever, Kraft Foods, and ConAgra Foods. All you have to do is purchase these products and follow the instructions on the packaging. You can also help by engaging in the “Give Meals” section of www.walmart.com/hunger, or using a mobile app to generate meal donations for Feeding America.
Would you also like a chance to win $50K for your community!? By participating in the Golden Spark Promotion Walmart will randomly award 40 “Golden Sparks” valued at $50,000 each to consumers who participate in the Fighting Hunger Together Golden Spark promotion. The winners will choose a community to receive the funding to start or expand a backpack program that provides vital meals to food-insecure children during weekends when they do not have access to free- and reduced-price school meals. Walmart Associates will also have a chance to compete together for their store to win a Golden Spark by logging volunteer hours.
During your next Walmart shopping trip, be sure to look for the “Fighting Hunger Together” signs. I personally will be looking for General Mills products, as I am a huge fan on their gluten free selection as well as their other products.
If you would like to learn more about hunger relief? Check out http://www.walmart.com/hunger and learn more about Golden Spark promotion or visit the “Give Meals” section were you can take one product and turn it into 7 meals.
