Kickboard USA Scooter Review

/ /
Whats the coolest thing about waking up in the morning?? Riding your Kickboard USA mini micro scooter to the kitchen table for breakfast, of course!!!

This mini micro scooter has been all over our house (Except for the bedrooms. It doesn't do too well on our thick carpet.) The girls ride it to the table for breakfast, lunch and dinner. To the bathroom to brush their teeth, around the living room to pick up their toys. Any excuse they can think of!! At night, the scooter gets parked right outside the girls bedroom so that it's waiting for them when they wake up in the morning.

(I must apologize for the blurry photos, trying to get the girls to stay still long enough to take a picture was not the easiest task. Add in the fact that it was dark and cloudy outside... not the best day for pictures)

My oldest has been begging for a scooter for a few months now. We even tested a couple out in the store a while back but they were just to big for her, making it hard for her to control. I had no idea that they made smaller ones. Thankfully, the wonderful people at Kickboard USA let me know otherwise!

Unlike most scooters, the mini scooter was designed with 3 wheels. The front two wheels turn when you lean which is great for younger kids to develop balance, coordination and motor skills. Even my 3 year old can ride it!!! The deck of the mini scooter is large enough for the girls to put both feet on for when they want to just cruise around.  There is also a foot brake positioned at the back of the deck making it easy to stop if they get going to fast. The best part is that these kick scooters come in MANY different colors!!!

(And just in case you are wondering, tutu's, flower head bands, Christmas stockings and bumble bee costumes are appropriate scooter riding attire!!)

Unfortunately we have had nothing but grey sky's and rain since our scooter arrived in the mail, so we have yet to test the scooter outside. (When we do get a chance to take it out the girls will definitely be wearing their helmets.) Surprisingly, both girls have been really great at taking turns and sharing the scooter. I hope they keep it up or I may have to buy another one :)

Disclosure: I received the mini micro from Kickboard USA in exchange for this review. I received no other compensation for this review. All of the opinions are 100% mine.

Home Management Binder - Bills to Pay

/ Friday, January 25, 2013 /
Thank you Staci, who left a comment on facebook suggesting a 'bills to pay' printable.

I used to have a folder with a pocket for each month. As my bills came in I would place them in the front of the folder and then after they were paid they would go into the pocket for the corresponding month.

A few months back I moved everything into a file cabinet, however, it's not working for me. I'm definitely looking forward to using my folder again and this printable will be a great way to keep track of what I have already paid and what still needs to be paid for the month.

Thank you again Staci. If anyone else has any printables that they would like to see included in this series, please be sure to leave your ideas in the comments.

If you are joining me in making your own binder, please be sure to take photos and blog about it. At the end of the month I will be having a link party were you will be able to link up your own home management binders.

If you would like to share these printables with your readers you can snag the button below and place somewhere on your blog or in your post (although this is not required, I would appreciate it!)

Home Management Binder - Random Notes

/ Tuesday, January 22, 2013 /
If your anything like me, you have a bagillion random thoughts run though your brain every day. How do you keep track of these thoughts? I have created this fun "Jot It" page. While I like to keep most of my thoughts organized, (I have a small notebook for all of my craft/ blogging ideas, one for all of my home school ideas, and one for all of my home decor/ maintenance ideas) I never now what to do with those completely random ideas that don't fit into any category.

Now I have a place to write them.

If you are joining me in making your own binder, please be sure to take photos and blog about it. At the end of the month I will be having a link party were you will be able to link up your own home management binders.

Home Management Binder - Calendar #2

/ Wednesday, January 16, 2013 /
OK, I know that I have already posted a calendar page which you can view HERE. However, as I started adding more pages to my Home Management Binder, I noticed that the calendar page is the only one that is in landscape format while all of the other pages I have made are in portrait landscape. While this may not bother some of you, I found it irritating having to flip the entire binder around just to view my calendar.
So for those of you who are like me and would rather have all of your pages facing the same direction, you can print out this calendar.

If you are joining me in making your own binder, please be sure to take photos and blog about it. At the end of the month I will be having a link party were you will be able to link up your own home management binders.

Home Management Binder - Contacts List

/ Tuesday, January 15, 2013 /
One thing that has always bugged me about address book printables is that they don't have the alphabet tabs on them. I always end up labeling them with sticky tabs that usually fall off after a few months. That is why I decided to include tabs on these. To put your address/contacts portion together just print out 13 of these pages. Then on each page cut off all but one tab, leaving a different tab on each page. You can cover the tabs in clear tape or laminating paper to make them stronger. I also included a link to the contact list without tabs so that you can print extras or if you just don't want to deal with the tabs.
ENJOY!!!

Home Management Binder - Weekly Calendar

/ Tuesday, January 8, 2013 /

I have never been much for weekly planners. In the past I have always used monthly calendars along with a reminder app on my phone for any future appointments or schedules. As for my day-to-day activities I prefer to keep a running 'to-do' checklist (which I will also be making a printable for)

With that being said, for those of you who do prefer to use a weekly planner, I whipped up this fun printable. I hope you enjoy it!!!

Home Management Binder - Monthly Calendar

/ Friday, January 4, 2013 /
I have labeled the first section in my Home Management Binder, "Schedules".
I made up a blank monthly calendar (I absolutely love blank calendars since I can use them over and over again no matter what year it is :)

This will be used to keep track of my husbands work schedule,  planned vacations, the kids activities, doctor appointments, as well as any other important activities.

If you are joining me in making your own binder, please be sure to take photos and blog about it. At the end of the month I will be having a link party were you will be able to link up your own home management binders.

Home Management Binder - Printable Tabs

/ Wednesday, January 2, 2013 /
Yesterday I shared my Home Management Binder Cover Page with you. Today I would like to share some printable tabs that I made up. Although it would have been just as easy to buy some tabs, I wanted mine to match my cover page.

The download is two pages long and includes all of the same colors that are on the cover page.

Here is how I made the tabs for my binder.

Download and print the tabs on normal paper. Cut the tabs out then fold in half and place between your laminating sheets and run through your laminator. (or you could use an iron if you don't have a laminating machine)  When cutting your tabs, cut about 1/8th of an inch away from the paper around the top part of your tab. When cutting around the bottom part of the tab you will need to cut right along the edge of the paper. This will keep the top part of the tab together but will allow the bottom flaps to separate, making it easier to glue to your chosen paper. Hopefully the picture below will make more sense if you are confused.

Once you have your tabs laminated and cut out slide them onto the edge of your chosen paper and glue in place. After the tabs are dry, punch holes in your paper and add your tabs to your binder.

The best part about these laminated tabs is that I can write on them with permanent marker and I don't have to worry about smudging the ink or the paper tabs falling out (like most of the store bought ones). However, if I decide I need to change a category, I just spray it with a small amount of hair spray and the permanent marker wipes right off.

If you are joining me in making your own binder, please be sure to take photos and blog about it. At the end of the month I will be having a link party were you will be able to link up your own home management binders.

Let's Get ORGANIZED - Home Management Binder {free printables}

/ Tuesday, January 1, 2013 /

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Who is ready for 2013??

2012 was a great year and I am determined to make 2013 even better.
I've decided to kick off the new year by making a Home Management Binder. I made my first Home Management binder about 2 and a half years ago and I LOVED IT!!!! Then we ended up moving, and moving again, and moving again.... When settling into our new home I decided to place everything into a filing cabinet instead. Well.... that is not working out for me. So I am going back to my binder.

Since my old binder is a little outdated I decided to make a new one and .... (here is the best part)... I'm going to share all of my printables with you!!! Yep, that's right, I will be posting some fun, FREE printables throughout the month. Everything you will need to make your own Home Management Binder!!

So the first step in making your Home Management Binder would be to snag a binder. I've decided to go with a plain white binder (since a already had one that was not being used). Then I whipped up a fancy cover page for it.

If you would like to download and print your own cover page just click on the download link below the photo. Please let me know if you have any complications and I'll do my best to help you out.

I'll be back tomorrow with some printable, colorful binder tabs to go along with the cover page!!
