Don't forget to enter the GIVEAWAY. Ends Dec. 15th.

Ok, I'm going to keep it real with you guys.

Over the past couple years there have been a few blogs that I stopped following. These blogs used to be blogs that I loved. They were full of tons of inspiration. Wonderful tutorials, amazing crafts projects, and just ideas in general. Then slowly the tutorials and crafts started being replaced by reviews and giveaways. Just like anyone, I love free things!! But really?? How often do you win those giveaways? I NEVER win. I would rather see tutorials, tips, and inspiring idea. For this reason alone, I stopped following these blogs and swore that this would not be how my blog ended up.

Then I fell for the trap!!! The offers started rolling in and is all I saw was $ $ $!!!!! I have turned down several offers. Some did not pay enough and others were just not a fit for this blog but that still left 4 reviews in one WEEK!!! This last weekend I took a step back. I realized that this is NOT were I want my blog to be. I want people (my readers, YOU!!) to come her to be inspired. Not pressured into buying something that you probably don't want or can't afford. I still had two reviews to be posted (which I posted earlier this week) but from now on you can expect more crafts and tutorials. Yes!! I will still do the occasional review and/or giveaway ( I gotta make money somehow!) but these will be limited to once a week or less. And I promise there will be no more till after the holidays. Besides I have way too many crafts to do to be wasting my time on reviews!!
Speaking of WAY TOO MANY CRAFTS, I finished a few of the projects on my long 'to do' list and I even added (and finished) another project that I think you guys will LOVE!!!
I also have someone VERY SPECIAL that will be making an appearance on this blog next week!!! I will be meeting her in person on Friday and I am SO EXCITED to introduce her to all of you!!

So I hope you all are prepared for next week because I have TONS of tutorials lined up!!

And in the spirit of keeping it real....
here is are the girls decorating our BEAUTIFUL Christmas tree.

Yes, I realize that I am breaking ALL of the unspoken blogger rules.
No fancy tree topper (you can't see the top in this photo but we actually DO NOT have a tree topper), miss-matched ornaments, ugly tree skirt, and the lights are in no fancy order.
Truth is, growing up my parents always let us pick out a new ornament each year. I always wanted one of those beautiful designer-looking trees and four years ago I finally got one. It was a wonderful tree with matching blue and silver bulbs. Not a single miss-matched ornament. The next year we switched to red and white ornaments and even had a matching tree topper. While I thought both of these trees were beautiful, it just didn't feel like Christmas. So we are going back to the miss-matched ornaments! Our tree is decorated with all of my old ornament that have been collected over the years. Each one has a date written on the bottom and they all come with their own special memories. I'm changing up the tradition a little with my own kids by letting them make their ornaments (which I will be posting next week). The ugly tree skirt is from previous years. Maybe next year all get around to making one. And the lack of a tree topper is due to the fact that I thought I would have enough time to make one. I still may, we'll see.
So, for those of you who have designer-looking trees and matching ornaments all wrapped up with a beautiful tree skirt, I envy you!! However, it is just not for me. All the beautiful ornaments in the world could not replace the memories that our tree holds and the memories it will hold for years to come!
